Having gone pro in 2011, the 5 years Garbiñe Muguruza has played of professional tennis so far have established the Spaniard as a talented player with a lot of potential moving forward. She finished the 2016 season with a number 7 singles ranking, according to her WTA bio.
A member of the 2016 Spanish Olympic team, Muguruza was also part of the 2015 Spanish Fed Cup team.
Among her greatest career moments as a singles player, are winning the French Open (Roland Garros) in 2016 and in Beijing in 2015, in addition to being a finalist at Wimbledon and Wuhan in 2015. Muguruza has also found some success in doubles tennis, especially with Carla Suarez Navarro as her partner. The duo won at Birmingham, Tokyo (Pan Pacific) in 2015 and Standord in 2014; they were finalists at Madrid, Dubai, and the WTA Finals in 2015, and Madrid and Tokyo (Pan Pacific) in 2014. Additionally Muguruza has also teamed up with Romina Oprandi in 2014 and won in Marrakech, and in Hobart with Maria Teresa Torro-Flor.
